Tiddly Inks Challenge #78 - Color Challenge

In my continuing success with my New Year's Resolution, I am trying to get back into ALL my usual card challenges with my favorite companies.  Of course, Tiddly Inks ranks in my top 5!  It's only fitting that I cr8'd a card for their latest challenge, & it's a color challenge. Challenge #78 wants the following color palette incorporated into our design:
Now the choice of shades for the green, yellow, orange, blue do not have to be "exactly" as shown above, but they must be the prominent colors on our project.  So... using Bo, I made a bright and cheery birthday card:
TI #78 - Bo Birthday Card

TI #78 - Bo Birthday Card (image detail)
I used some scrap papers I had laying around the craft area, pulled out my EK Success decorative border punch (wave dots), used a sentiment from There She Goes (Sentimental Birthday), die-cut from MFT's Die-Namics (bracket tab), and added a K & Company party hat embellishment... Ta-Daaa!
So glad to be participating once again in the Tiddly Inks' Challenge.  Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my latest challenge cr8'ion!

Happy Cr8'ing!

Fall Back...

Goodbye Summer... Fall is Back!

Well, maybe only in my daydreams because the temperatures around here are still very much indicative of summer.  Enough already!  Too hot, too humid... very ready for the fall "cool down."

This card is for the latest Tiddly Inks Challenge: Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall!  With thoughts of autumn on my mind, also come those rich, deep, dark shades of red, orange, yellow, brown.  I just love those colors & it always reminds me of falling leaves (often which we'd have to rake up as kids).  As a kid, even though it meant the start of school... autumn was always my favorite season & it still is!

Quick Bookmark

I wanted to participate in this week's Tiddly Inks challenge, but time is of the essence today & I am definitely short on it!  It's very simple, but I didn't want too many embellishments so the book will close with little bulk.

Here it is (I hope you like it):

Blooms by the Inch

This week's challenge at Tiddly Inks is Inch My Way Along, using inchies within your design.  This technique/design is something I have not tried, but was certainly "game" for it! Using Happy Day Bouquet, I cr8'd this "Hello" card in shades of turquoise blue:
TI Challenge #62 - Hello
I trimmed the image to 1" squares, mounting the pieces onto a piece of textured cardstock, just a wee bit bigger then 1" by 3"; however I kept the mounting cardstock in one piece, instead of cutting further into individual frames to the image.  Using an EK Success Ribbon Punch, I wrapped the piece of twine multiple times through the punch-outs and finally tied it off into a bow.  The papers are scrap bits, printed & textured (embossed); the sentiment is a stamp from There She Goes' Garden of Life Stamp Set; & used Aqua Baker's Twine.

Thanks for looking!

School Girl Love

Tiddly Inks current challenge is all about school... as it is nearing that time of year (already). Thank you Teacher Challenge - #61 & TI has some very cool, & oh-so cute images for school, teacher.  You can find them HERE.

I decided to take my card cr8'ion in a not-so obvious direction with the theme using You Are On My Mind.  There was just something about that girl which spoke "school uniform" to me, & how some kids (I was never one of them) who truly LOVE when school starts.  I decided to keep it CAS, something I struggle with - constantly having to tell myself:  "less is more."

Take a look at my cr8'ion:

TI Challenge #61 - School Girl Love
I had so much fun coloring in her gorgeous, long-flowing wavy hair!  TI is so much fun, because their images are great to really practice coloring techniques using Copics (as I did), or any coloring medium.

The perfect compliment for my school girl was the binder edge punch from EK Success - it really gives it the "feel" of a notepad (yes, I'm old-fashioned - no iPad here.).  The dimensional sticker was something from K & Company, Brenda Walton collection.

Well, I hope you enjoyed the card as much as I did in cr8'ing it.  Enjoy your day!

Reel Me In: Best In Show

This week for the Tiddly Inks Challenge (#57 - Reel Me In) is about finding inspiration from a favorite movie... well, I had to narrow it down & then searching through my DVD collection... & searching, & searching... eventually I came to one of my most favorite and albeit very off-beat, down-right quirky movies:  Best In Show.

The movie, for those who might not be familiar with it, is very much a behind-the-scenes, hilarious look at owners and handlers of "show dogs."  Anyone who owns a dog or has ever found themselves watching the American Kennel Club, Westminster, or Eukanuba Dog Shows can appreciate much of the humor.  I have seen this movie LOTS of times (it used to run frequently on Comedy Central), & LOL at the down-right absurdity of dog shows & their owners.

The Inspiration:  Best In Show
Using Best In Show for my cinematic inspiration for this week's card cr8'ion, I used Walk the Dogs digi image. The dogs in the digi image are nearly identical to a few of the dogs in the movie.
Best In Show
I had some "REEL" fun cr8'ing this card & I hope you enjoyed it as well!  Thanks for stopping by to take a look at another of my cr8'ions!

TGIF with Tiddly Inks & Stamping Bella Challenges

TGIF... indeed!!  And it just so happens to be my birthday today... yippee!!

I am "celebrating" with this card that is for the following challenges:
Tiddly Inks Challenge (#55) - Sugar and Spice with a Twist
Stamping Bella Bloggabella - Bloggarific Friday Sketch Challenge 06.24.11
The Sketch to follow for Bellarific Friday, 06.24.11
Anywhere but Here using Love Beetle Huggabugg
Anywhere but Here using Love Beetle Huggabugg (image detail)

Anywhere but Here using (Tiddly Inks) Love Beetle Huggabugg (embossing detail)
I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the heart floral scroll (I'm really having fun with this machine).  Then continuing with embossing - only heat embossing this time - I used clear embossing powder to cr8 some texture to the beetle & accented the embossed hubcaps with glossy accents to the hearts.    This little cutie just seemed as though glitter would be coming out that exhaust, so that's just what I did!  Hey - this car runs on Huggabugg glitter dust!  Somedays... its one of "those" days where you wanna drive off & not tell a soul, just to get some rest & relaxation:  Anywhere but here!

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!  (I know I will - off to get my b'day celebration ON!)

Happy Cr8'ing!

Birthday Prezzies

Oh my - a single-layer card, now THAT'S a challenge!  Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog is asking for just that this week for Challenge #54 - Simplify! - Create a one-layered card.

Using one of the freebies in the TI store, here's the card I cr8'd for this week's Challenge:  (Can you tell I was inspired by the new note cards being offered at the TI store?  Added a complimentary font for the image & stamped the corners of the card.)
Birthday Prezzies!
Birthday Prezzies (image detail)
Okay, so keeping it simple is more difficult for me than embellishing when it comes to cr8'ing cards.  However, I *simply* love how this card looks.  I spend a bit more time on the coloring of the image, so as to give it more dimension with shadows and depth of color on the ribbons.  Just because it's one layer, does not mean that layer still can't *pop* at ya off the card!

Hope you enjoyed this card!

Going Goth

This week at Tiddly Ink's Challenge Blog, they're going Goth!  Well, sign me up!  Done.

Here's my card, using Dogs R Fun:
Challenge #53 - Going Goth

Challenge #53 - Going Goth (detail - used glossy accents on the dogs' noses & her hairpins, as well as glitter markers on the dog collars & dress trim)
The stamped sentiment is from There She Goes, from the Puppy Love set.  It just seemed so appropriate because sometimes dogs make the best friends: loyal and always at your side - no matter what!

Tiddly Inks Challenge #50- Inspire Me

This week's challenge is working from the inspiration of this photo, a gorgeously-hued curtain from Anthropologie.  (Now seeing this curtain, I am IN LOVE with the color combination - not to mention the item.)
Anthropologie... "The Inspiration"
Using one of the newest Tiddly Inks images, Huggabuggs, here is what the inspiration piece spoke to me:
TI Challenge #50 - Inspire Me (To My Friend)

TI Challenge #50 - Inspire Me (To My Friend) (detail)
I added just a wee-bit of Glamour Dust to frame out the image... for just a "hint" of sparkle.  And I simply have to say "Bravo!" for selecting the inspiration piece - fantastic choice!  I loved the color palette, but also those layers & layers of soft ruffling fabric just draped throughout the piece.  I simply wanted to recr8 that imagery with the layers of "ruffles" I cr8'd here using a decorative paper punch & adding the dimension by using 3D adhesive squares to just the bottom edge of the paper pieces.  The stamped sentiment (from a stamped set by Heidi Grace) was something I added last minute, because I just felt the card needed "something."

I'm tickled pink... & coral & shades of purple too with how this card came out!  I hope you enjoyed & will stop by again really soon to check out more of my cr8'ions!

Enjoy your day & weekend... & Happy Cr8'ing!

Tiddly Inks Party Puzzler Blog Hop

Hello, hello!!  It's a great day for a blog hop!

Tiddly Inks is having a really fun idea for a blog hop:  Party Puzzler Blog Hop. (You will be putting together some puzzle pieces along the way, which can win you some prizes.)  Party?  Puzzle?  Blog Hop?  Prizes?  I'm sooooooo there!  I could not resist the chance to participate.

Using Everyday Princess and papers from Making Memories Sabrina Collection, here is my card cr8'ion:
Everyday Princess - work in progress (even cute w/o coloring the image, but it's missing "something").

Everyday Princess - finished cr8'ion!
Everyday Princess - Image detail

Everyday Princess - Crown detail
I used Making Memories line of products for much of the card - it wasn't my intention, but it worked out that way for my Everyday Princess.  (I really hope you get to see all the wonderful little details with the photos I included.)  The crown charm is from Making Memories, affixed with a brad.  I colored the brad with my Copics to match the rest of the hot pink paper and added some "bling" to the crown to mimic the crown she wears.  Her scepter is colored with Copics, too - even the large glitter brad (which adds some dimension).  Then, I went wild with Glamour Dust!  Even though she might be an "everyday" princess, doesn't mean she isn't a girly-girl.  And when the light hits that glittery tutu... get your sunglasses!  She's a glittering-beauty! (The sentiments are stamps - from There She Goes.)

Thanks for stopping by my blog!  If you like what you see... why not follow me!

Enjoy the rest of the TI blog hop!

TI Challenge #48 - Mother's Day Flair

Participating in this week's Tiddly Inks' Challenge: Mother's Day Flair, & Stamping Bella Bloggabella Flowers Challenge.  Arthur & Annie proved to be a great stamp choice, because it represents myself & my brother.  I took the opportunity to make Mom another card from her "kiddies."
Tiddly Inks Challenge #48 & Stamping Bella Flowers Challenge- We <3 Mom!!
Tiddly Inks Challenge #48 & Stamping Bella Flowers Challenge - We <3 Mom!! (detail)
Supplies used to cr8 this card:  stamps - Tiddly Inks @ Stamping Bella (Arthur & Annie) & Inkadinkado (font); flowers - Queen & Co.; paper - K & Company (Poppy Seed); punches - EK success (daisy - medium & dotted laced edger); bling - Queen & Co.; ink - Copic Markers; twine - The Twinery (lilac).

The detailed photo (I hope) showcases the "ruffles" of layers of paper, as well as the other dimension on the card.  I had so much fun coloring these two cuties & it was my very first time to "ink 'em up!"  It surely won't be the last time - they're too adorable!  What's not to love about Arthur & Annie... & Tiddly Inks for that matter!?!?!

Even though we're much older now... we always "need" our Mom.  The needs of her adult children are no less than the million of other countless ways she was there for us throughout our young lives.  I know I can never express my true love & gratitude enough for Mom, but she does love these cards I make her.  I'm certain this one will be no different!  We do love you Mom!

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!

Happy Cr8'ing!!

April Showers Bring May Flowers

Fresh off a win from last week's Tiddly Inks' Challenge:  Stitch Me... see my winning card HERE.  So with my winning, I picked out the digi images I wanted (I'm working from my own personal "TI Wish List.") & decided to use one of those images to cr8 my card for this week's challenge #47 - April Showers Bring May Flowers.

Here's my card, using Catch My Heart:
Tiddly Inks Challenge #47 ASBMF - Showering Me With Love
Supplies used to cr8 this card:  digi image - Tiddly Inks; paper - Cosmo Cricket (Delovely); ribbon - Michael's Stores; punches - EK Success (Diamond Lace Edger); ink - Copic Markers; glitter - Glamour Dust; gloss - Ranger Inkessentials Glossy Accent.

Love this sweet image & had great fun coloring her in for this challenge.  I love Copics & one of the reasons is how it allows you to build color, which provides for subtle shading & highlight variations within just one color marker.  Adding the gloss was a "must" in order to really capture that puddle she's gleefully skipping into it (or at least that's how she play out in my imagination)!

And if you get the chance, stop on over to the Tiddly Inks Blog because they are having an awesome Blog Hop celebrating their 1st Anniversary!  Join in the fun HERE or click on the image below.
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day... & weekend too!

Happy Cr8'ing!

You're A Stitch!

Good Friday to all & Happy Friday!

From the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog, this week's challenge:  You're A Stitch!  And since I have yet to learn how to do actual stitching on my cards, I opted to use stitches from a MFT Stamp Set.  Using the Cup of Love digi image & lots of scraps from my scrap bin: paper, ribbon & pearls.  I thought I'd turn to the ever-expanding scrap bin; all the little bits & pieces of leftovers from prior projects is growing by leaps & bounds, so I told myself there must be enough of  a ribbon, paper, etc to make one complete card.  I was right.

Here is what I cr8'd for this week's challenge:
Tiddly Inks Challenge #46 - Cup of Love

Tiddly Inks Challenge #46 - Cup of Love (detail)
This card reflects how I am feeling as of late:  my cup runneth over with love!

Thanks for stopping by & enjoy your weekend!
