OWH'S Memorial Day Sketch BlogHop

Hello & welcome to my blog.

Once again this year I am participating in OWH's Memorial Day BlogHop.  OWH = Operation Write Home; its an organization who has been providing homemade greeting cards to our soldiers across this great planet, giving them very personal & beautiful ways to keep in touch when writing home to their loved ones.
My father was a Marine in WWII, so I always hold the troops near & dear to my heart.  I love to make cards, but love even more sharing them with the troops & having them send them home to their loved ones.

It's nearly time for my cards... & before I go further, do you want to start at the beginning of the hop??  Just click on the image below. (Make sure to stop by all the blogs to enjoy everyone's great cards!)
It's a sketch bloghop, so I decided to use a few of my favorite OWH sketches.  First you will see the sketch & then my card which I cr8'd from the sketch's inspiration.
Sketch #20 is used for the first card I cr8'd.
I flipped Sketch #20 (Supplies used: BG Hopscotch papers, Unity Stamps & Copic Markers.) & did some freehand doodling on the edges of each of the layers of paper.  The stamped image is actually using the second impression, to cr8 a softer look to the image.
i love you the most.
Sketch #12 was used in cr8'ing my 2nd card for today's bloghop.
Happy Birthday Party

In this card I added just a few elements to enhance Sketch #12... drawing from it's inspiration... & cr8'd a birthday card.(Supplies used:  MME's hip-hooray Boy papers, Unity Stamps, Copic Markers, EK Success punch, ribbon, & rhinestone.

Thanks for stopping by on your way through all the great cards in this bloghop!  Enjoy the rest... & enjoy your Memorial Day!

Happy Cr8'ing!

Celebrating World Cardmaking Day with OWH!

Welcome to my blog!

So very glad to participate in World Cardmaking Day with OWH (Operation Write Home).  I have been sending cards to the soldiers (via OWH) for the last 4 years, after having learned about OWH in a "write-up" in Cardmaker magazine.  I figure making my cards - sharing my cr8've talent - is THE LEAST I can do for the soldiers who sacrifice far more each & every day.  My father served in WWII with the U.S. Marine Corps, so soldiers (especially Marines) hold a special place in my heart.

I went a "little overboard" & cr8'd a little something for everyone: Christmas, Birthday, Love.  After all, it is World Cardmaking Day!!  Much of the papers I used were scraps, making the most of every piece!  With that being said, here are the cards I cr8'd for this year's Cardmaking Day & OWH Blog Hop:
Frosty Nights' Snow Pals Card (using There She Goes Stamps)
Frosty Nights' Snow Pals Card (using There She Goes Stamps) (image detail)
Love's Journey Card (using sentiment stamp from My Favorite Things Clear Stamps)
Birthday Fishes Card (using stamps from Paper Smooches)
Birthday Fishes Card (using stamps from Paper Smooches) (image/accent detail)
Thanks for stopping by... & remember, if you like what you see: make sure to "FOLLOW" me!

Enjoy the rest of the blog hop (you can follow along using the image below)... & donate your cards to OWH today! (Details on how you can donate can be found on their website:  Operation Write Home.)

TE's Blast From the Past Blog Hop

This time around the theme for the Blog Hop was Birthday/Birth Day.  So I figured even birthdays are better with sprinkles on top!

Using Sprinkled with Love, here's my card cr8'ion:
Okay,  you might be getting older, but even birthdays are better with sprinkles!  It's a pretty CAS card for me, so I let the image details & paper have all the attention on this cr8'ion.  (Those "swirls" you see on the opposing corners of the card... those are the "steam swirls" from the stamp set, which I felt could look like streamers if positioned differently.  It looks like it worked!)
I hope you can see from this image detail how the third "scoop" of ice cream is elevated with 3D foam dots, adding just a bit of dimension to the image.  I also clear embossed the sprinkles on each of the scoops & colored them in using my Spica Glitter Pens.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my cr8'ion!  Now... enjoy the rest of the hop!

Happy Cr8'ing!

Tiddly Inks Party Puzzler Blog Hop

Hello, hello!!  It's a great day for a blog hop!

Tiddly Inks is having a really fun idea for a blog hop:  Party Puzzler Blog Hop. (You will be putting together some puzzle pieces along the way, which can win you some prizes.)  Party?  Puzzle?  Blog Hop?  Prizes?  I'm sooooooo there!  I could not resist the chance to participate.

Using Everyday Princess and papers from Making Memories Sabrina Collection, here is my card cr8'ion:
Everyday Princess - work in progress (even cute w/o coloring the image, but it's missing "something").

Everyday Princess - finished cr8'ion!
Everyday Princess - Image detail

Everyday Princess - Crown detail
I used Making Memories line of products for much of the card - it wasn't my intention, but it worked out that way for my Everyday Princess.  (I really hope you get to see all the wonderful little details with the photos I included.)  The crown charm is from Making Memories, affixed with a brad.  I colored the brad with my Copics to match the rest of the hot pink paper and added some "bling" to the crown to mimic the crown she wears.  Her scepter is colored with Copics, too - even the large glitter brad (which adds some dimension).  Then, I went wild with Glamour Dust!  Even though she might be an "everyday" princess, doesn't mean she isn't a girly-girl.  And when the light hits that glittery tutu... get your sunglasses!  She's a glittering-beauty! (The sentiments are stamps - from There She Goes.)

Thanks for stopping by my blog!  If you like what you see... why not follow me!
