Drawn to Love

Cr8'd a sweet Valentine using the Love Is Sweet Stamp Set and following the sketch for Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #152

Here's the sketch to follow & then my card:
TESC #152 - Drawn To Love
TESC #152 - Drawn To Love (detail)
I flipped the sketch and used a lot of scrap pieces to make this card cr8'ion come together.  I'd been a bit too anxious and cut some of the papers too small, and thought I'd "ruined" the idea I'd had in mind.  Sometimes, it's the "happy accidents" that turn out to be the cutest cards!  This was definitely such the case.  Adding some glitter hearts - chipboard and stickers, with a bit of twine... this card was just too cute for words!  It literally makes me smile!

Thanks for taking a look and I hope you smiled with my latest card cr8'ion!

Happy Cr8'ing!

Happy Heart Day

With Valentine's Day less than a week a way, I find myself making cards for the family to give... so I spent the day making those cards.  One of the cards I cr8'd was using the sketch for Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #151:
Here's my card I cr8'd, using TE's Love Everywhere stamp set (I cannot believe this is my 1st time using this stamp set!  - don't know what took me so long.):
TESC #151 - Happy Heart Day
TESC #151 - Happy Heart Day (image detail)
This sketch was a lot of fun to play with, and I am glad the sketch challenges are back at Taylored Expressions.  I just love their stamps (& dies too)!!

Thanks for taking a look today at my Valentine cr8'ion.

TE's Blast From the Past Blog Hop

This time around the theme for the Blog Hop was Birthday/Birth Day.  So I figured even birthdays are better with sprinkles on top!

Using Sprinkled with Love, here's my card cr8'ion:
Okay,  you might be getting older, but even birthdays are better with sprinkles!  It's a pretty CAS card for me, so I let the image details & paper have all the attention on this cr8'ion.  (Those "swirls" you see on the opposing corners of the card... those are the "steam swirls" from the stamp set, which I felt could look like streamers if positioned differently.  It looks like it worked!)
I hope you can see from this image detail how the third "scoop" of ice cream is elevated with 3D foam dots, adding just a bit of dimension to the image.  I also clear embossed the sprinkles on each of the scoops & colored them in using my Spica Glitter Pens.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my cr8'ion!  Now... enjoy the rest of the hop!

You Warm My Heart

When I came home the other night, I needed to calm my restless spirit from the day.  For me, making cards is always therapeutic & works like a charm to calm me.  So I wandered over to Splitcoaststampers.com & stumbled upon Taylored Expressions latest Sketch Challenge (#144).

Here's my cr8'ion, using Kitchy Kitchen stamp set from TE:
TESC #144 - You warm my heart
I just acquired this stamp set & adore it!  There are so many adorable possibilities, so I chose this retro stove to tell my hunny he "warms MY heart."  I just love making cards like this & surprising him with one of my card cr8'ions "just because."  (He likes it too.)

Thanks for taking a look & enjoy the day!

You're The Best, Dad

Recently found & fell "in love" with Taylored Expressions stamps!  Puhleeze, how could I not - they are just so stinkin' cute!  So as part of my efforts to constantly challenge my cr8've self, I thought this week I would try their sketch challenge for the very first time.  And then, I decided to combine this card for a few challenges:

Taylored Expression - Sketch #139

Wee Memories - Free For All
The Sketch
You're the best, Dad

You're the best, Dad (detail)
This sketch was so much fun.  I used Dad Tools by TE to make a Father's Day card using the sketch. I used all scrap bits of Basic Grey papers, colored the image in with my Copics, accented the card with dew drops (that were colored using my Copics, so it would "match" the card better), and finally the "DAD" image with popped up off the circle (for that bit of dimension).

It was super fun to participate in Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge this week, and certainly hope to do so again, and again, and again!  I just love their stamps, and have so many on my Wish List - it's a sad (this economy is affecting my passion for stamping - that's a REAL crime!).

Happy Cr8'ing!
