For participating in the OWH Cardmaking Bloghop I chose a sketch from Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge, #403 to be exact. Here it is...
Unfortunately, I didn't quite read all the instructions & didn't make a card following a wintery or holiday theme. *OOPS!* That being said, here is my birthday card using the sketch:
Took the sketch, but not too literal... added some ribbon & placed the image apart from the original placement in the sketch. The pattern paper is from Basic Grey's Green at Heart paper pad, & paired with turquoise cardstock. The image is from Tiddly Inks... Big Wishes Bean & the sentiment is from my stash of clear stamps.
Here's a closer look at the adorable image I colored using my Copics, & accented it a bit on the candles. The accent dimension came courtesy Matte Finish from Ranger Inkessentials.
Today, while it's World Cardmaking Day... it also would have been my father's 89 birthday. A former Marine who served in WWII, so when I think of today... it's always about my father. I think it's because of his service that I am so honored to participate in OWH. Making these cards is my way of saying "Thank You."
Proud to be a part of this bloghop... enjoy the rest of all the wonderful cards being shared this weekend!
Happy Cr8'ing!

I like how you changed the sketch to fit your needs. The pops of turquoise really gives this card a bright cheery attitude - perfect for a birthday card. My dad was also a marine who served in WWII and Korea and he too was my impetus for contributing to OWH. Thanks for that memory. Happy WCMD!
