Supplies used to cr8 this card:  MFT Stamps (à la modes, Dream Big); Copic Markers; Fancy Pants Fine and Dandy - True Blue papers; Recollections glitter stars & rhinestones.

I really like the color combinations and how well they played with the image ("play nice" is what Mom used to tell us as kids!).  I really like this new set from the à la modes line of stamps and am already getting all sorts of ideas for the coloring variations to the moon.  Oooh... exciting cr8've possibilities await with this stamp set!

Go ahead... dream big, shoot for the stars!  You never know... they just might come true!

The "Sweet 16" for MFTWSC Sketch Challenge

It's Week 16, or "Sweet 16" as I'm calling it for the MFTWSC Sketch Challenges.  I am really keen on this week's sketch & thought I would break out a stamp set, though I've had it for some time in my "collection," had yet to ink it up:  Feeling Fruity? (by Stephanie Fizer)  In looking at this set, & the final outcome of my card, I wonder WHY it took me so long to use it.  It's just TOO darn cute!

Making this card today got me thinking... or rather longing for those oh-so-sweet Honeybells (from Cushmans)!  It seems like ages ago when I had those juicy hybrids, because they are only in peak-season/available in January.  I wish I had some of them now!  This card will have to do, but I am really sweet on how it all came together.

Challenge #15 for MFTWSC

Another great sketch is upon us this week for the MFTWSC - check it out.  I'm still waiting on getting my my Cuttlebug, so I use all those wonderful Die-namics!  I can't wait because I know it will take my cards to "the next level."  The day I receive it will be like Christmas morning for me... woo-hoo!

So for this week's card I broke out an older stamp set in my MFT collection: Going Places.  And my Cosmo Cricket: Joy Ride Paper Pad had the perfect compliment in papers for this card.  Take a look:

MFTWSC Challenge Time - Baker's Dozen: #13!

All day long I've been thrown off as to "what" day it actually is around here!  From the moment I awoke, I kept thinking "It's Saturday!"  Not yet... but it is Friday, & that's always a good thing too! 

This week's sketch challenge from MFTWSC's is really good (okay, so maybe I say that about all of them).  I can only judge it by the amount of fun I had in cr8'ing this week's card - & boy, did I have fun with it! 

"The Sketch"

My immediate thought turned to the spring season & how I wanted something colorful & vivid.  I have just the perfect MFT stamp set for it:  "Love Birds."

I stamped 2 trees - one in lighter ink, the other in darker ink; I even kept their colors in line with the light/dark image I wanted to cr8.  While it's subtle, you can see that one tree (from it's trunk to it's leaves) is darker or lighter than the other.  The grass is what I was able to cr8 using my Copics - in varying shades of green.  I really wanted the feel of a secret spot in the park or secluded forest for these "Love Birds."  I always associate when season turns to Spring, it's also a time for love as well.

I won for last week's MFTWSC Challenge (#12)!  My very first win - ever - with one of their challenges & I am super stoked over it!  My only "dilemma" - how to spend the gift certificate?  I have so many stamp sets on my "wish list" that I simply don't know how to choose.  Oh well, every crafting girl oughta have such "problems!"

MFT Weekly Sketch Challenge #11

Here we are again... time for the My Favorite Things Weekly Sketch Challenge.  And not only did I struggle with time to complete this card, but also with the sketch itself.  Although, I really like the end results.  What do you think?  (But first, here's the sketch design to follow)

I decided to ink up a stamp set, which I have never used before (even though I have had it for sometime among my collection).  I chuckle each time I read the sentiment, "Serenity Now!"  C'mon... Seinfeld fans - you KNOW that one for sure!  Over 12 years later & I still laugh my you-know-what off anytime I hear "Serenity Now!"  And let's face it... there have been plenty of times when I've uttered the saying myself.

The color combination was something I picked before I'd even selected the images.  They hold true to the colors I see often in Buddhism, specifically in the attire of the Dalai Lama.  Rich golds, deep reds, and often purples are a theme throughout royalty over the ages, or even within religions.

I hope this card brings some serenity to my life right now... the days have been crazy, hectic.  The making of this card was actually a very calming process, & something I really needed to finish off a busy week.  Wishing you all a piece of serenity in your own day, life, etc.!  Namasté!
