Blue... Without You

This week's Bugaboo Recipe Challenge is CAS (clean and simple) card.  Now these CAS are often a challenge for me, but I am getting better at the "less is more" approach.

Using an image from one the recent Friday Freebies, here's my card:

You're Amazing!

With trying to always push myself to try new things, I decided to participate in a new blog challenge.  Well, it's "new" to me at least: Catch The Bug Challenge Blog.  This week's challenge has to use the colors red, white & blue AND also to incorporate ribbon into the project.  No problem... right?

Well, it seems simple enough; however, I did struggle initially... it was more of a "struggle" over which Bugaboo Digi Image to use!  They're all so darned cute, but I decided on Bugaboo Brats - Soccer Boy.

I had so much fun with this little "all-star" - from coloring to embellishing!  (The sentiment is from a There She Goes Stamp Set called Sentimental.) Coloring with my Copics is always so much fun: not just because it takes me back to when I loved coloring/drawing as a kid, but using Copics allows for limitless options of layering colors or varying techniques.  (Someday the goal is to be Copic Certified, but for now I am very much self taught and learn by mere observation or studying the work of others.)  I used my glossy accents on the soccer ball, because it just needed "something" to make it pop.

It's not always about who wins or loses, but this card would be perfect to let any kid know they are amazing!  That is definitely something worth celebrating!

Hope you enjoyed my card & thanks for stopping by!  I'm hoping to get a chance to participate in more Bugaboo Challenges, as I had a great deal of fun "playing" with their images.
