It's A Cupcake Kind of Day!

Isn't ANY day really a cupcake kind of day??  Well, for me it is... love me some good cupcakes!  It seems as of late, cupcakes are really having a "comeback" of sorts.  More and more shoppes are popping up featuring cupcakes; finally letting the world know they're not just for children's birthday parties!

Today's card is for this week's (#28 to be precise) My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge with MFTWSC at Split Coast Stampers (SCS).  So I decided to make a birthday card, for which I was commissioned, and tackle two tasks into one!

Here's the sketch which is to be used for this week's challenge:
Week #28's Sketch
MFTWSC #28 - Cupcake Kind of Day
If you could have cupcakes like these each day, wouldn't you?  These are the only ones which have NO calories - the very best kind of cupcake! (Using MFT's It's A Cupcake Kind of Day! Stamp Set)
MFTWSC #28 - Cupcake Kind of Day (cupcake #2 liner detail)
On the second "chocolate" cupcake, I colored in the top of the cupcake using Copic markers & applied glossy accent to the cherry & its stem.  Then I paper-pieced the cupcake's liner & then stamping the image again onto vellum paper.  The image on the vellum was then heat embossed, folded to mimic the effects of the paper liner & glued to the paper-pieced layer (just along the outer edges).
MFTWSC #28 - Cupcake Kind of Day (cupcake #1 icing detail)
On the first cupcake I paper-pieced the paper liner, heat embossed the icing outline, & then applied Liquid Applique in white. After the Liquid Applique dried, I then "set it" using the heat embossing tool in order to cr8 that "puffy" look to the icing.
MFTWSC #28 - Cupcake Kind of Day (inside detail)
The inside of the card is simply the 2nd cupcake image stamped along side of the sentiment "Happy Cupcake Day" (from the MFT Icing on the Cake Stamp Set).

Hope you enjoyed today's card... it makes me want to whip up a batch of cupcakes!

Happy Cr8'ing!
